Provincial Recreation Area Improvements
Prepared design and tender documents for a boat ramp and parking area, with integration of environmental considerations along with engineering functional requirements. Design included recycling and re-purposing of existing concrete boat ramp pads, optimization to minimize disturbance, and mitigation of potential impacts during construction. Site enhancements included placement of native vegetation to provide biodiversity and habitat for insects, pollinators and bird species, while avoiding vegetation that could potentially attract bears. Project design included environmental impact assessment, and preparation of submissions for regulatory approvals including fisheries, water act and cultural resources. FountainStone is currently involved in addition of a gangway structure and floating dock for another location at the same reservoir, and has identified opportunities for low impact development practices.
Industrial Stormwater Management Plan
Prepared a stormwater management plan for a Drilling Fluid Facility in accordance with Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) requirements.
Mine Water Management
We provided hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and preliminary design suppport for tailings dyke seepage collection, surface water runoff, and sump sizing for a confidential oilsands project.
